We are delighted to say that the AGM and associated activities held yesterday evening, 9 June, were well-attended and went very well.
In her report to the meeting, the Chair presented a motivating overview of LoCaL’s activities, and reminded us of how much we have done during the year, even if it sometimes feels to us like wading through treacle. She also presented our plans for moving forward, including the proposed pop-up shop. A bigger committee was elected and we hope with more people we shall be able to do more.
The business of the meeting was followed by a talk by Peter Freeman, a park ranger at Lichfield District Council, about Christian Fields Nature Reserve in north Lichfield. During a short break in the programme, those who wanted to tasted and scored strawberries bought from six different places so we could find out which one was the favourite (and which the worst!). We will let you know the results when they have been collated. And those who wanted to drink their strawberries as a smoothie headed out to the courtyard and the pedal-powered smoothie-maker brought along by the wonderful Lichfield Re-Cycle people. You can see it in action on our Facebook page.
The film shown after the break was entitled “Singapore – Biophilic City”. The lasting impression I was left with from this was of the amazing green walls on some of the buildings there – so tall, lush and beautiful. If you missed it, you can catch it here:
We hope to see everyone – the new faces and familiar ones – again soon!
